Tourist Guide and Conservation Training

Welcome to Sondela Academy. For your convenience follows a list of equipment, clothing and suchlike for the Student to bring along to Sondela:

Iron
Clothing Hangers, washing pegs
Washing powder, sta soft, stain remover
Sunlight liquid, wash cloth and dish cloth for drying
Water bottle for fridge
Bedside Lamp

Bring your own:
Coffee, tea, sugar, milk, breakfast cereal, or anf food you wish to prepare for yourself, eg. Bread, butter, smear, etc.

Below follows a list (use it as a guideline) of clothing the Student may bring along. Remember casual clothes for off-duty times. Please mark your clothes:

1) Khaki/ outdoor clothes 3 sets

2) Underclothes & socks As required

3) Warm clothes (bush jacket/ windbreaker/ jersey) Decide what you require

4) Hat/ cap One

5) Shoes/ Ankle boots/ boots (to use in bush/ rough terrain) Two pairs

6) Raincoat/ Poncho One

7) Short pants (PT pants) Two

8) T shirts/ Golf shirts Two

9) Running shoes 1 x pair

10) Sleeping clothes (T shirt etc. ok) One set

11) Swimming gear (swimming pool available) One

Toiletries

1) Soap 2 bars

2) Shaving gear 1 set

3) Shampoo 1 bottle

4) Sun Block (factor 20 or better) 1 bottle

5) Toothpaste 1 tube

6) Tooth brush 1 bruch

7) Polish and brush (brown) 1 set

8) Mosquito / insect repellent 1 stick or aerosol

9) Wash basin plug (standard size for bathroom) 1 plug

10) Two towels (1 face and normal one) 2 towels 1 swimming towel

11) Hair brush / comb 1 brush/ comb

12) Any other personal toiletries As required

Sleeping Equipment

All bedding are to be supplied by the Student. Two sets necessary so bedding can be changed on a weekly basis

1) Pillows One or two

2) Pillow cases 2 sets

3) Blanket Two

4) Duvet (own choice) One

5) Duvet cover Two

6) Sheets 2 sets

7) Bed frill 1

General Equipment

1) Torch (hand held or headlamp) One

2) Matches/ lighter (Making of fires) One box or lighter

3) Utility knife (Leatherman type of tool) One

4) Rucksack One

5) Prescription medicines As required

6) General medicines foe eg. headace pills and plasters As required

7) Binocular As required

8) Camera

This is a guideline/ checklist, and you may add as you need. It isn't a survival type of course.
